How to Create a Gift Bag in 10 Minutes or Less

Posted on February 19, 2013 by snoetzel in Projects - Other No Comments

When you need a quick and easy gift bag, reach no further than your pantry! Just grab a brown paper lunch sack and gussy it up.

Dressed-up Paper Lunch Sack using Tea for Two Designer Series Paper

Here’s how to pull together this bag in no time:

  1. While the bag is still folded flat, punch the top edge with a decorative punch.
  2. Place your gift in the bag and fold over the top edge.
  3. Fold a Paper Doily in half and place over the top of the bag.
  4. Cut a couple of strips of Designer Series Paper. Trim the ends into a pennant shape.
  5. Fold the DSP strips in half and arrange over the top of the bag.
  6. Cover a clothespin with a narrow strip of Designer Series Paper.
  7. Tie a ribbon bow on the clothespin.
  8. Use the clothespin to clip your gift tag on the bag. The clothespin will also keep the bag close.

Just Thinking of You

Posted on February 17, 2013 by snoetzel in Cardmaking No Comments

Today’s card project was created using the Just Thinking stamp from the Spring catalog. I love that the Spring catalog has several products that are suitable for masculine cards. The Parker’s Patterns Designer Series Paper has great colors and patterns that are suitable for the guys and the Just Thinking stamp could be used for anyone.

Thank You Card and a Framelit Tool Tip

Posted on February 15, 2013 by snoetzel in Cardmaking, Product Tips and Tricks No Comments

The spring-time colors in the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper are fun to work with during our winter, rainy season. Can’t wait until we see some Spring weather here in the Atlanta area – shouldn’t be too long now. Spring arrives pretty early here in the South.

Enjoy this happy, thank-you card!

Card using the Oh, Hello! stamp set

I am so pleased that Stampin’ Up! introduced a set of ovals framelits in the Spring catalog. This set is such a versatile tool to have in your toolkit. Plus, it coordinates with the Oh, Hello stamp set.

Try these tips for using Framelits:

  • When using a Framelit to cut out a stamped image, use a sticky note to hold the Framelit in place on the paper as you run it through the Big Shot.
  • If you are slightly off in lining up your image (as I was on the oval above), you can sometimes mask the error by sponging the edge using a Sponge Dauber and ink from your stamp pad.

Here is a list of the supplies I used on this card. Click on any of the links to order in my online store.

  • Tea for Two Designer Series Paper
  • Calyso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Early Expresso Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Island Indigo 8-1/2”x11” Card Stock
  • Very Vanilla 8-1/2”x11” Card Stock
  • Natural 7/16″ Trim Ribbon
